Traditional landscape project 2019 – valuable work to preserve biodiversity and the historic landscape.
The landscapes within the area of the manor will be restored during the spring of 2019. The goal is to restore the western side, which has become covered by a forest, to a traditional biotope and start grazing in the area next summer. For this purpose, some trees have been cut and the logging residues have been collected. The number of conventional pastures in Finland has decreased rapidly, and meadow species are consequently disappearing. The traditional landscape project serves as a learning environment for Hyria’s nature and environmental students. Topi Mustonen (Luontoukko TMI) is responsible for the planning and implementation of the project.
